that's the problem. we always feel trapped under the illusion that just because somebody is nice to us they love us, not because they are obligated to be polite or understanding. I often fall under the same trap too. it's understandable to develop feelings but it might be unacceptable to expect something all the time.

Damn. Like yeah, we are a bunch of lonely weaboos that don't even try to "fix ourselves", but in the long run, is it even worth it? Here I am, struggling through the NNN, and Ironically this video helped me with that resolve to just chill and keep going. It's odd.
There's something so beautiful in struggling with loneliness(I'm not trying to romanticize it, it almost took my life last year), but then you realize you are not alone. We are all in this together. The "nice girls" can just stay away. I'm done at this point. No one can say I haven't tried, after my last relationship horribly ended 3 years ago(in me being cheated on), I decided to give women another shot, and all I faced was either rejection, or bullshit that makes you realise noone gives a fuck about you, they're not there for you, no, instead you are just there for them.
Once I realized I am simply alone, this odd clarity came out of nowhere, hit me like a bullet. 'Is this inner peace, finally? Is this what it feels like?" I asked myself. Been some time since then. I can't say that I still don't get lonely sometimes, but once you accept that you are alone and simply need to learn how to enjoy your time like that in your own world, everything becomes much easier.
Sad thing is I don't even have any friends that text or call me anymore they were the nice ones too. I feel so alone and desperate that one time someone texted me after two weeks and I answered so quickly and they didn't respond for three days its been months now. I now think that I'm not worth anyone else's time to even think of me I miss that warm kindness and I feel a hole in my heart growing and consuming me. I'm always feeling like I'm going to be alone both with no love or friendship.
Stop being so concerned with people. You are a man, naturally only half inclined to be social to begin with, at most, and half inclined to THINGS. Be they objects (cars, boats etc), experiences or accomplishments. Find your thing bro. If you thing isnt too weird, more than likely friends and lovers will fall into place pretty easily
Instead of wasting time trying to get us to deny your insecurities or sympathize with you go open up to your family or try harder to find people you can rightfully call "loved ones".

It's the fact that he misinterpreted something, acted on it, got shot down, AND GOT RIDICULED for it is what broke the deal for him. It's fine if he just got rejected; all men go through that at some point and he wouldn't be emotionally scarred as he is.
It's not blaming the girl at all; it's blaming himself for always misunderstanding things and thus push the nice girls away because he is tired of discerning who is genuine and who is fake
It is normal, yes, and Hachiman does not say "every girl should like me back". He is saying, "I am tired of misinterpreting other people's kindness so I'm shunning you away because I don't want to misconstrue it again and hurt myself in the process."
And he does not hate them. He might say "hate", but deep down he does not hate them. He is just justifying his (arguably, rotten) mindset of shunning people away as to protect himself from more emotional damage.

Hachiman's been alone his entire life and struggles to cope with rejection. He can't differentiate people who genuinely like him and the ones who are just being courteous. He's got an inferiority complex that's fueled by self-loathing and avoids people like the plague because he's tired of misconstruing people's emotions. He's wanted a genuine relationship with zero strings attached since the start, but he thinks it's impossible.
It's not "bad" per se. Without watching the anime, it's hard to get the gist of it but hear me out:
Hachiman means the exact opposite of this monologue. Hachiman is a guy who is tired of misinterpreting other people's emotions whether they genuinely like him or they are just "nice" to him. It is a struggle all men are going through at some point in their life. Spoilers though, he confessed to a girl, got rejected, and was even ridiculed by that girl and her friends just because he misinterpreted the kindness that she gave him. He resigned himself from that fate and started pushing away nice people because he thinks that nice people are only there approaching him because society obliges them to (to which it's not). He doesn't want anything to do with nice girls because he's tired falling for all of it and misinterpreting it and getting hurt again.
Hachiman is broken to the point that he had erected barriers between him and other people. He thinks of himself as the lowest of the lowest, does social s**cides where he self-deprecates and self-sacrifices himself socially, and he does not fit in.

Sheesh. I get anime does hit with reality but shit. Everyone is so caught in not needing each other it’s annoying. I had this mindset. I simply broke away from everyone (family and friends wise) I realized there are things about myself that I must change to be with someone. I was clingy. I was aggressive and short tempered. I was violent and quick to wrath. A lot of people don’t like what they attract not knowing it’s a way of you being shown the mirror. Because relationships between a man n woman are a one mindset thing. If both your minds aren’t equally yoked, they are bound to fail. It won’t last. There’s no 50/50. No 100/100. There’s roles. Accept them both as men n women. As a man you’re gonna have to fight the world and provide some sort of stability and security for your woman. As a woman, understand you’re no longer number one. It’s not about making you happy. There are things you have to put to the side for the sake of the relationship. Both of you. You’re a team. But there must be a leader. Men understand rather you like it or not she’s gonna depend on you to lead. But women understand that he needs your support to accomplish what you guys have set out. In doing this you find time for each other. You enjoy each other’s company. You become not just lovers but friends. What I mean by that is looks fade away and age settles in. It’s that time you guys spent building a bond together that keeps the longevity of relationships. Speaking only from the advice given to me by older men n women with years of wisdom n marriage. In fact I got married last year n met my wife when we were 19. I’m 23 now. We went to the same HS and middle school but never spoke to each other. In fact she knew one of my younger sisters. (I’m 4 months older than my wife). The foundation of a relationship is the bond built. Not by sex, finances, and appearances. There’s nothin wrong with those things but don’t just look for those in the relationship. It takes work. Trials and tribulations come in relationships. Never step out of the relationship when it gets hard. Always work together to get through it. Build yourself up as a man first. Then you can build her up. As a woman your femininity is key. No man wants to be with another man (unless he swings that way). Take head of it. Apply it to yourselves fellas n ladies. It takes hardwork. Good luck
